WHO WE ARE.

Each year, DETROIT by DETROIT showcases the terrific talent that's here in Detroit, and highlights why our music scene is unlike any other.

With more bands than you can count on two hands, switching between two stages, local acts each play 3-song sets...by OTHER artists with Detroit ties.

So much talent is born in the Detroit area, and DETROIT by DETROIT is an exciting way to showcase it. What started as an April Fool's show has become one of the most highly-anticipated annual events amongst members (and fans) of the Detroit music scene.

Plus, our local music celebration goes full-circle...proceeds from DETROIT by DETROIT fund a special scholarship at School of Rock to benefit a future Detroit rock-and-roller!

DETROIT x DETROIT: ORIGINALS

On April 30th, 2021, due to the limitations on in-person gatherings, we debuted DETxDET: ORIGINALS, a virtual music event celebrating our talented Detroit artists while we anxiously awaited the return of in-person gigs.

Hosted by the legendary Dan MacDonald (host of HEAR + NOW, Saturdays at 9am on AM800 CKLW), DETxDET: ORIGINALS featured 15 local acts each performing one original song.

Plus, just as with our in-person events, we raised donations for a special scholarship at School of Rock, to benefit a future Detroit rock ‘n’ roller!
